About The Nixatron Blog-Times
The Name
"Nixatron" goes back to college days. An outgrowth of dabbling in
role-playing games, Trinitonia (on the campus of Trinity University) was
the land wherein I was the Archcleric of Noridia, and as the Vanguard of
Tomorrow, Nixatron Research was the name I would slap on anything creative
that I came up with (usually as a diversion to avoiding homework). You can
get a taste of the silliness
here.
The Blog
I had a habit of sending articles to friends that I thought
contained important news or perspectives, or were just outlandish and
important for critique/debate. Then I discovered this thing called
blogging, and decided it was an efficient way for me to pass on
information, accumulate a database for reference, and stop deluging my
friends with forwarded articles.
The Man
A native Texan, I now live in Arizona. I have a doctorate
in Counselor Education, a Master of Divinity, and a bachelor's in
Religion. I've been a youth director in a Denver area Church, done
clinical work in university counseling centers and a psychiatric hospital.
Currently I am a counselor educator and otherwise serve higher education
and volunteer at my Church.
I enjoy hiking and backpacking, etc.
The Mission
I'd considered myself to be politically middle-of-the-road
for many years, but after 9/11 I found myself wanting for more than the
same news, even worded the same way, on the network media. The way network
news was reported seemed to show an underlying agenda. Enter Internet news
sources and talk radio. I discovered that the political landscape shifted,
so that now makes me conservative and somewhat party independent. My
Christian values guide my choices. The more the Left undermines
traditional Judeo-Christian values and national security, the farther to
the right I seem to find and define myself. Your mileage may vary.
